Hot Honey Old Fashioned
by Harry Savory
Harry Savory, Production Manager at The Bevy Store says:
“I’ve always loved the combination of hot spice and sweetness mixing together with the food I eat so, why wouldn’t it work in a mixed drink? Whisky and honey together isn’t anything new, but this drink is elevated using the ‘on trend’ condiment of our time, hot honey.
The great thing about this recipe is it’s not too picky on the whisky front. Everyone is welcome to the party so pick your favourite. Married with the lip-smacking, spicy-sweetness of the hot honey, this is an old fashioned with a whole new lease of life. There’s a dash of angostura bitters too for another layer of flavour, which compliments the spice of the honey really well.”
INGREDIENTS
50ml Bourbon or Scotch Whisky
12.5ml Hot Honey
2 dashes Angostura bitters
METHOD
- Add all ingredients to a mixing glass or cocktail shaker with cubed ice.
- Stir for 10-12 seconds until the ingredients have mixed thoroughly and diluted slightly.
