A New Lifeline for Women in Business Across Ayrshire

In Ayrshire’s ever-evolving business landscape, one local network is proving that meaningful connection is the secret ingredient to thriving — and it starts with coffee.
A Lifeline for Women in Business
In today’s fast-paced and often isolating professional world, connection isn’t a luxury — it’s a lifeline. For women navigating leadership, entrepreneurship, and career growth, the need for shared wisdom and genuine support has never been greater.
Ayrshire Business Women (ABW) has been championing women in business for over 31 years, offering networking, mentoring, and development opportunities across the region. Now, the organisation is returning to its roots with renewed focus: to create a vibrant but safe space where members feel empowered by knowledge, connection, and opportunity — and to advocate fiercely for women to be able to access the support they need to thrive in business.
Introducing The Wednesday Connection
ABW’s latest initiative, The Wednesday Connection, is a monthly coffee morning designed to foster relaxed yet purposeful gatherings for women across North, East and South Ayrshire. Held on the last Wednesday of each month and rotating through the three ‘shires, each event brings together a dynamic mix of professionals, creatives, and entrepreneurs — all united by a spirit of collaboration and mutual encouragement.
There’s no agenda, no pressure, and no pitch. Just real conversations, shared experiences, and the kind of peer support that sparks ideas and strengthens resilience. It’s a place to be seen, heard, and inspired.
Open Arms and Open Minds
Attendance is free (just paying for anything ordered at the venue) and both ABW members and non-members* are warmly welcomed. It’s a gentle way to explore the network and discover the value of being part of a supportive, dynamic community.
This new initiative builds on ABW’s strong legacy while offering a fresh rhythm of connection — one that’s as warm and genuine as the coffee itself.
*Non-members can attend up to two events without any obligation to become a member.
Rising Together
In an economic climate that continues to challenge Ayrshire businesses, ABW is championing the belief that by lifting each other up, collective success becomes not only possible but can be powerful and highly impactful.
