A New World of Craftsmanship Arrives in Glasgow
Weaving stories of craftsmanship and jewellery expertise across six generations, Scottish born jeweller Laings has built memories in Glasgow since 1840. Today, their story continues with a new showroom and workshop opening their doors in the historic Argyll Arcade.
A part of Laings history since 1971, the Argyll Arcade has been a foundational home for the brand’s jewellery offerings, spending more than five decades within its walls. Generations of clients have discovered their perfect piece here, guided by voices that honour the traditions of jewellery craft and celebrate the enduring beauty of diamond and gemstone excellence. A cherished chapter of the Laings story, the arcade remained an enduring symbol of the company’s commitment to Glasgow.
As of July 2026, Laings marked a triumphant return to their former unit, ready to welcome clients old and new into a new world of craft. Offering an immersive shopping experience that is a celebration of unique jewellery pieces and the stories they tell.
While the world has changed dramatically since its founding, the spirit of Laings remains the same. With a heritage built on craftsmanship and a future driven by innovation, the company continues to honour its past whilst shaping the next chapter of luxury retail.
The new showroom not only expands Laings offerings of exquisite jewellery pieces but also introduces four new collections exclusive to the setting. Each collection, a tie to Laings heritage and ethos, capturing the desires of clients existing and new. All crafted in single mine origin gold, a responsibly soured precious metal that offers complete traceability from mine to finished piece. Part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to responsible luxury, this choice reflects Laings values of integrity.
Tide draws on Laings historic ties to shipbuilding, with rope-inspired motifs across earrings, pendants, bracelets and rings. Nova, Laings first charm collection, celebrates personalisation through customisable pendants, bracelets and hoop earrings, finished with gemstone charms and engravable details. The collection also introduces celestial-inspired rings, set with constellation-like arrangements of diamonds and gemstones.

A collection steeped in history, 1840, honours Laings 186-year legacy with a Celtic knot design inspired by the brand’s heritage. To mark the launch, each piece will be available at a special introductory price of £1,840.
Laings also introduces Symphony of Love, a new engagement ring concept built around choice and personalisation. Rather than selecting a finished ring, clients are invited to compose their own piece, choosing an individual diamond before pairing it with an exclusive setting to create a design that feels personal, considered and entirely unique.
At the heart of the new showroom lies a fully operational jewellery workshop, visible through glass windows and doors. This unique destination invites clients to experience the artistry and expertise behind their pieces, offering a glimpse into the skill, care and precision that define Laings craftsmanship. Far from a traditional closed workshop, it brings the magic of jewellery-making into view, allowing visitors to watch each piece come to life before their eyes.
Explaining the concept of the workshop, Serena Gough, Services Director shares:
“The workshop is central to what makes the Argyll Arcade showroom truly special. It provides a rare opportunity for clients to see the craftsmanship behind fine jewellery first-hand, bringing them closer to the artistry and skill that define our business. From restoration and alteration services to engraving, charm welding and bespoke work, the workshop allows us to care for treasured pieces while creating new memories for future generations. Having these services visible within the showroom creates a unique connection between our craftspeople and our clients, allowing them to be part of the magic and gain a deeper appreciation for the expertise behind every piece that passes through our hands.”
The doors of Laings Argyll Arcade showroom are now open, ready to welcome clients into a world of craftsmanship and jewellery excellence. Visit Laings today to begin your journey.
