A Year of Music, Football and Good Times at The Brass and Granite

What a difference a year can make.

This weekend marks the first birthday of The Brass and Granite as Kilmarnock knows it today – and the pub is celebrating with three days showcasing some of the best acoustic entertainers to have taken to its stage since it reopened.

From Friday through to Sunday, it will be live entertainment all the way, with a packed programme of singers and musicians alongside the ever-popular Faz’s Big Quiz.

For a pub with entertainment at the heart of what it does, it seems a fitting way to celebrate a successful first year.

The Brass and Granite is by no means a new name in Kilmarnock. The pub was previously well established in the town before closing its doors, and the past 12 months have been about re-establishing it as a place where people can meet, have a drink and enjoy some great live entertainment.

Owner James Griffith definitely has a glass-half-full attitude towards the pub trade. James says: “There’s no doubt the hospitality trade has its challenges, but we’ve always looked at what we can do rather than what we can’t. For us, it’s about creating a great atmosphere, putting on quality entertainment and giving people a reason to get out and enjoy themselves **right here in Kilmarnock. **

The pub welcomes customers of all ages, and its entertainment reflects that. Different acts and events attract different crowds, from an afternoon or evening enjoying an acoustic singer to the fun – and occasional competitiveness – of Faz’s Big Quiz.

**The Brass and Granite prides itself on being a genuine entertainment venue, featuring live entertainment every weekend of the year, giving people more reasons to stay in Kilmarnock for their night out rather than looking further afield. **Football remains part of the mix too, with The Brass and Granite welcoming both Kilmarnock supporters and travelling fans on home matchdays to soak up the pre match atmosphere.

The return of a busy venue has also been positive for the surrounding area, bringing people into town and helping generate footfall that can benefit neighbouring businesses.

So, after a year of rebuilding an old favourite and giving it a fresh lease of life, this weekend is about celebrating.

And what better way to do it than three days of great live entertainment, familiar faces, new visitors and a glass or two raised to the next 12 months?
