Ayrshire Chamber Launches New Training Programme
Ayrshire Chamber is delighted to announce the launch of its new and updated training programme for 2025.
The new programme includes sessions on Retention and Recruitment with ActionCOACH, Change Management with Lean on me Associates, How to Generate Free Publicity with Strand PR, IOSH Working Safely with 2020 Safety Training, and Creating the Right Habits for your Work Day with Complete Coaching.
New for this year, the Chamber has also partnered with Jim Mair Driver Training and Blackwood Training Academy to offer Forklift Driver Training and Working at Heights Training. The training courses will take place within the Chamber Offices at Glasgow Prestwick Airport.

There will also be a variety of information sessions running over the coming months to support Chamber members with Health and Wellbeing, Financial Planning, and Procurement.
As part of its ongoing programme, the Chamber will also continue to provide regular First Aid Training and International Trade Training and clinics.

Safety at the Heart of Business
Ayrshire Safety Group in conjunction with Ayrshire Chamber of Commerce Platinum Partner, Anderson Strathern, recently hosted a business breakfast in The North Stand at Ayr United Football Club. Julie McDonald and Calum Sweeney of Anderson Strathern, delivered a presentation-based on a fictional (albeit loosely based on reality) health and safety incident involving a sub-contractor.
They examined the potential twists and turns of the investigation and enforcement action by the Health and Safety Executive; criminal prosecution of organisations and individuals; civil claims and fatal accident inquiries. The attendees were briefed on what to expect if they were called to Court to provide evidence and all the possible outcomes.
The morning concluded with a look into the future of Health and Safety regulation and how the so-called Martyn’s Law, Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, will impact many businesses holding events once the finer detail is worked out over the next two years.
Ayrshire Safety Group is made up of members who live and work predominantly in and around Ayrshire. It represents public and private organisations such as local authorities, construction, commercial and manufacturing companies. Many of the group members are Health and Safety specialists, but the group welcomes everyone who has a keen interest in Health and Safety matters. The group meets monthly between September and May.
