A Mother’s Day Delight at The Fenwick Hotel

When the lovely new owners at The Fenwick Hotel, Robin and Jaspreet Bava, invited me along for their Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea, I didn’t need much convincing. Tea, cake, and good company? Yes please!

From the moment I stepped through the doors, I knew I was in for a treat. The surroundings were warm, welcoming, and just the right amount of fancy without feeling like you had to mind your pinky finger with every sip. The team had really pulled out all the stops, creating a relaxed and elegant atmosphere that made everyone feel right at home.

Now, let’s talk about the star of the show – the food. A beautifully presented tower of treats appeared at the table with delicate finger sandwiches, lovely soft scones (yes, with real clotted cream), and a selection of cakes that could tempt even the most disciplined of dieters. Everything was fresh, delicious, and almost too pretty to eat… almost.

As I sipped my tea (and maybe indulged in a cheeky glass of fizz), I couldn’t help but smile at the lovely buzz in the room – families laughing, mums being spoiled, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

As if the setting and food weren’t enough, we were also treated to some magical entertainment – literally! The incredibly talented magician, Steven Blair, was working the room, amazing guests with his mind-bending tricks and charming stage presence. Whether it was a card trick or a moment of pure sleight-of-hand wizardry, he had everyone (myself included) totally mesmerised. It was such a fun and unexpected touch that added even more sparkle to an already special afternoon.

A huge thank you to Robin, Jaspreet and team at The Fenwick Hotel for such a wonderful afternoon. It was the perfect way to celebrate, and I can confidently say, I’ll be back. Probably sooner than I should admit.
