Advanced Services On Your Doorstep at Vets4Pets Ayrshire

At Vets4Pets Ayrshire, we know your pets are family. That’s why we bring top-quality care closer to home, so you don’t have to travel far for treatments.

One way we do this is by working with Surgeon on Site, a team of expert vets who are experienced in advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. Instead of referring pets to distant clinics, we offer complex procedures right here in our familiar practice, surrounded by people they trust.

Take Buzz, our vet Laura’s dog—he suffered from patellar luxation, where his kneecaps slipped out of place, making walking painful. Thanks to the Surgeon on Site team, his surgery was done in our Irvine clinic, in a stress-free environment. Now, he’s back to his happy, bouncy self!

We also partner with Mary Jane from AdVance Dermatology, who visits our Ayr practice monthly to diagnose and treat skin conditions, ear infections, and allergies. Many pets struggle with persistent issues, but Mary Jane identifies the root cause and creates tailored treatment plans for lasting relief. Bentley, one of her recent patients, had painful, swollen paws due to chronic pododermatitis. With allergy medication, medicated wipes, and protective boots, he’s now walking comfortably—and looking stylish in his new footwear!

In addition to these services, we offer pet acupuncture, a gentle, alternative therapy that helps manage pain, arthritis, and mobility issues. By stimulating specific points on the body, acupuncture promotes healing and improves overall well-being. It’s especially beneficial for older pets or those recovering from surgery. Acupuncture is available at all three of our Ayrshire practices, and we also provide specialised pain clinics. These include acupuncture, gait analysis to assess your pet’s movement, and tailored treatment plans to support their recovery and comfort.

In our Ayr practice we also provide laparoscopic surgeries for neutering procedures such as spaying for female dogs and castration for dogs with retained testicles. Using small incisions and a camera-guided technique, this method reduces pain, speeds up recovery, and lowers the risk of complications, ensuring a smoother post-surgery experience. Additionally, our Irvine practice offers ovariectomies using a VetSeal unit which is similar to cautery equipment, which provides similar benefits including shorter surgery time, reduced pain, quicker recovery and is less invasive than traditional spays.

By bringing expert care directly to our practice, we make treatment easier, with less travel and fewer waiting lists. Whether your pet needs surgery, skin treatment, or alternative therapies, we’re here to help.
